Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy explains how orders for Women’s Tops, Women’s Shirts & Blouses, and Women’s Loungewear are processed, prepared, dispatched, delivered, and handled in the event of delivery issues. By placing an order, customers agree to the shipping terms set out below.

1. Order Processing

All orders are reviewed and processed after successful order submission. Processing includes checking order details, confirming product availability, preparing the purchased items, and arranging the shipment for dispatch.

Orders may require additional processing time where customer information is incomplete, inaccurate, or requires clarification before shipment can be arranged.

2. Order Information

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information when placing an order, including the recipient name, delivery address, postcode, and any other information required for successful delivery.

Alderton cannot be responsible for delivery delays, failed deliveries, returned parcels, or additional shipping costs caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information supplied by the customer.

3. Delivery Address

Orders will be shipped to the delivery address provided during checkout.

Customers should carefully review their delivery details before completing payment. If an address correction is required, customers should contact us as soon as possible.

Once an order has entered the dispatch process or has already been shipped, it may not be possible to change the delivery address.

4. Dispatch

An order is considered dispatched once it has been handed over to the relevant delivery service for transportation to the customer.

Where shipment information is available, customers may receive confirmation that the order has been dispatched.

Dispatch does not mean that the order has already been delivered. Delivery timing may depend on the destination, carrier operations, local delivery conditions, and other circumstances outside our direct control.

5. Delivery Time

Delivery times may vary depending on the destination, order volume, product availability, courier operations, public holidays, weather conditions, transportation disruptions, and other circumstances affecting the delivery network.

Any estimated delivery timeframe provided during the ordering or shipping process should be treated as an estimate unless expressly confirmed otherwise.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that orders are prepared and dispatched appropriately.

6. Delivery Delays

From time to time, deliveries may be delayed because of circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Possible causes may include courier delays, severe weather, transportation disruption, customs procedures where applicable, unusually high order volumes, public holidays, operational interruptions, or incorrect customer delivery details.

Customers who experience an unusual delivery delay may contact us using the contact information provided at the end of this policy.

7. Multiple-Item Orders

Where an order contains more than one item, the products may be shipped together or separately depending on availability, fulfilment arrangements, packaging requirements, or logistical considerations.

Customers may therefore receive more than one parcel for a single order.

Receiving one parcel does not necessarily mean that the remaining items have been omitted from the order.

8. Delivery Attempts

The delivery provider may make one or more delivery attempts depending on its operating procedures.

If no one is available to receive the parcel, the delivery provider may leave instructions, arrange another delivery attempt, place the parcel in an appropriate location, or direct the customer to a collection point where applicable.

Customers are responsible for following any delivery instructions provided by the delivery service.

9. Failed Delivery

A delivery may fail because of an incorrect address, incomplete address, inaccessible location, absence of the recipient, refusal of the parcel, failure to collect the parcel, or another delivery-related issue.

If a parcel is returned to us because delivery could not be completed, customers should contact us to discuss the available options.

Additional delivery costs may apply where a failed delivery resulted from information or circumstances for which the customer was responsible.

10. Parcels Marked as Delivered

If shipment information shows that a parcel has been delivered but the customer cannot locate it, the customer should first check the delivery location carefully.

Customers should also check whether the parcel was received by another person at the address, left in an appropriate delivery location, or handled according to instructions provided by the delivery service.

If the parcel still cannot be located, customers should contact us as soon as possible with the relevant order details.

11. Lost Parcels

If a parcel appears to have been lost during transportation, customers should contact us so that the matter can be reviewed.

We may need to check the available shipment information or communicate with the relevant delivery provider before determining the appropriate resolution.

Customers may be asked to provide reasonable information necessary to support the investigation.

12. Damaged Parcels

Customers should inspect delivered parcels and products as soon as reasonably possible after receipt.

If a parcel arrives visibly damaged or the products inside have been damaged during transportation, customers should contact us and provide the relevant order details together with a clear description of the issue.

Photographs of the parcel, packaging, shipping label, and affected items may be requested where necessary to assess the problem.

13. Incorrect Items

If a customer receives an item that does not correspond with the product ordered, the customer should contact us with the order details and information identifying the incorrect item.

Customers should avoid unnecessary use of an incorrectly supplied item while the issue is being reviewed.

We will assess the circumstances and provide appropriate instructions.

14. Missing Items

If an order appears to contain a missing item, customers should first confirm whether the order may have been divided into multiple shipments.

If the missing item has not been shipped separately, customers should contact us and provide the relevant order information so that the matter can be investigated.

15. Customer Responsibility After Delivery

Once an order has been successfully delivered to the address supplied by the customer, the customer is responsible for taking reasonable care of the parcel and the products.

Customers are encouraged to use a delivery address where the parcel can be received safely.

We are not responsible for problems arising after confirmed delivery where the parcel was delivered correctly according to the information supplied with the order, except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise.

16. Address Changes After Ordering

Customers who notice an error in their delivery address should contact us immediately.

We will make reasonable efforts to update the information if the order has not yet entered the shipping process.

However, an address change cannot be guaranteed once the order has been processed, prepared for dispatch, or handed to the delivery provider.

17. Order Changes and Cancellation Before Dispatch

Customers wishing to change or cancel an order should contact us as soon as possible.

A request to amend or cancel an order does not automatically guarantee that the change can be made.

If the order has already been prepared, dispatched, or handed to the shipping provider, changes may no longer be possible.

18. Events Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for shipping delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Such events may include severe weather, natural events, transportation disruption, industrial action, courier network interruptions, public authority restrictions, technical failures, unexpected operational interruptions, or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented.

Where such circumstances occur, we will make reasonable efforts to manage affected orders appropriately.

19. Customer Rights

Nothing in this Shipping Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or reduce any rights available to customers under applicable United Kingdom consumer law.

Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal right, the applicable legal requirement will take priority.
